My Valentine

I couldn't allow today to pass without mentioning the fact that I'M IN LOVE! Valentine's Day has never been too exciting for me until this year. Hubby has always been attentive and kind over the years, always providing something thoughtful. It's always been appreciated but of course it's never held the romantic sort of feeling for me.

This year I am the luckiest girl in the world! I'm in love with an amazing woman who made today what it's supposed to be about. She gave me a big box of chocolates and two mix cd's that she spent hours creating. I can't think of a more thoughtful gift. I know she chose each song for a specific purpose, and she thought of ME with each one. Above all, she made me feel entirely loved and adored ... and quite tingly as well. I feel like a silly school girl, so excited and so in love with my Valentine.

Hubby created a mix cassette tape for me years ago. I found it last year and it made me smile. Lots of country songs, even though he loathed country, because he knew I loved it. I've been very blessed in my life with thoughtful loves and I'm so grateful. The difference, however, is undeniable. I was so happy and grateful for Hubby's thoughtfulness for all those years, but it never brought the noodley feeling in my stomach and heart like the mix cd's I received today. It didn't bring out the silly school girl in me. It didn't make me want to take him in my arms and express my romantic feelings for him. It certainly didn't make me want to kiss him sweetly and passionately, for lengthy amounts of time.

Today I am grateful for years of kindness and love with Hubby, where he tried to express himself the way a husband should on this special day. Although my heart wasn't able to accept his offering the way it was given, his efforts have always been exceptional. What a great man! I am also grateful for the woman of my dreams, who has touched a part of my heart that no one ever has before. She has made me appreciate Valentine's Day, after years of wondering what all the fuss was about. I look forward to being in love with her every February 14th for the rest of our lives.

I'm the luckiest girl in the world!! Happy Valentine's Day, my Love. You hold my heart.

I love that term "noodley feeling", and I love that you're getting it now!!!!

I seriously have tears in my eyes and feel all happy choked up for you. I love that you've found love!

Nothing says love like the mixed CD.
